Welcome to Cowfish!
Cowfish restaurant, widely considered to be the restaurant of choice in Fremont County, is actively striving to become known as the best restaurant in Wyoming. The restaurant is committed to employing top-shelf cooking talent, providing superior food and service, and emphasizing the unique, local character of Wyoming’s Lander Valley.
The menu and food at Cowfish are prepared by its award-winning chef, Jeff Blackwell – previously the executive chef of the AAA four-diamond-rated Wild Sage Restaurant at Jackson’s Rusty Parrot Lodge and Spa. Jeff’s menu features steaks, fresh fish, organic chicken, specialty pastas, salad entrees and homemade soups and desserts, as well as nightly dinner specials. Other highlights of Cowfish’s menu include:
- A line of specialty microbrews from the Lander Brewing Company that uses only the finest ingredients from around the world, and includes beers that have won national and international awards at the Great American Beer Festival, the World Beer Cup and other competitions.
- Fresh seafood that’s flown in regularly, including wild-caught sockeye salmon, blue crab and rainbow trout.
- A special brew pub menu, available only on Sunday and Monday nights, that offers a variety of low-cost, delicious munchies that go great with a cold, frosty beer.
- Burgers made from local beef cattle raised free of hormones and antibiotics by Wyoming Custom Meats.
- An onsite organic garden that, in the summer and fall, supplies homegrown, delicious vegetables, including arugula, asparagus, broccolini, cherry tomatoes and butternut squash, for use in salads and entrees.
Located inside a historic and beautifully restored 130-year-old brick building, the restaurant’s romantic, candlelit dining room, pub and private backrooms for special parties all showcase local artwork from Wyoming artisans.
In the summer, the restaurant offers the added attraction of eating on its outdoor deck and patio, under a trellis of wild cascade hops.
Cowfish works closely with the other four establishments that form the Coalter Block restaurant group – the Lander Brewing Company, the Gannett Grill, the Lander Bar and the Scream Shack – to offer locals and tourists a selection of dining experiences all year round.
Reservations are recommended.
Established in 2002, the restaurant is located on the Coalter Block on Main Street in downtown Lander, between First and Second Streets. Parking is available on the street out front and in parking lots alongside of and in back of the Coalter Block establishments.
